Terms of service

These cover the website itself. Project work runs under a separate signed agreement, and where the two disagree, that agreement wins.

Who these terms are between

These terms cover your use of this website. They are between you and Baseline Studio. They are not the terms of any design engagement; project work is governed by a separate written agreement signed by both parties, and where the two documents disagree, the signed agreement wins.

Using this site

You may read, print and share this site freely. You may not copy substantial parts of it to publish elsewhere, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, or attempt to access anything that is not intentionally made public.

Our work and who owns it

The case studies on this site describe engagements delivered by Baseline Studio and are published with our clients agreement. The products, brands and trade marks shown belong to those clients.

The written copy, layout, illustrations and code of this website belong to Baseline Studio. The methods and approaches we describe are yours to learn from and use. The specific expression of them here is not yours to republish.

Accuracy of what you read here

We write our case studies from project records and we describe outcomes as they were measured at the time, using our clients own reporting. Figures reflect a specific product, team and period, and are published to explain what we did rather than to predict what will happen for you.

Prices shown on the services page are starting points for the scope described. Every engagement is quoted individually after we have understood what is actually involved.

Enquiries are not a contract

Sending the contact form does not create a contract or reserve studio capacity, and nothing on this page is an offer to be accepted. Work begins when both parties have signed a written agreement setting out scope, fee and dates.

Confidentiality of what you send us

Treat the contact form as a first message rather than a secure channel. Tell us enough to judge fit, and keep anything genuinely sensitive until we have a mutual non-disclosure agreement in place. We are happy to sign one before a first call and it takes us about a day.

Availability and liability

We aim to keep this site available and correct, but we provide it as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this website or from reliance on information published on it. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and the courts of Lisbon have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
